Cooking Pasta to Perfection
Little Tomato

Cooking perfect pasta is an art that can be easily mastered. Here are a few tips to help you achieve this:

Free to move

Give pasta room to move by using plenty of water. If you don't have a pot large enough it is better to split the pasta into two pots of boiling water than overloading one. As a general guide, 1/3rd pasta and 2/3rd water should do the trick.

No stick

To stop the pasta from sticking, as well as add flavour, simply place a little salt in boiling water. Also, remember to stir the pasta immediately after adding it to the water.

Retaining the heat

After adding pasta to the water, the water ceases to boil. Cover the pot to recover heat quickly. When the water begins boiling again, remove the lid and finish cooking.

An authentic sauce

Save a cup of the boiling water when the pasta is done. Add it to your DOLMIO® pasta sauce. The starch in the water will bind the sauce, helping it stick to your pasta.

Strictly no washing!

When the pasta is al dente (tender but firm), pour it gradually into a colander. Do not rinse as the starch on the pasta helps the DOLMIO Pasta Sauce adhere to it. You can of course rinse when making a cold pasta salad.

Special touches

Garnish your completed Pasta Meal with lightly grated parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Simple little touches will enhance your home dining experience.
